I have found that with the bigger babies whena thunder storm rolls in they get worse panicky than others. All fo ours, wit the exception of fatboy shake so bad they need tranquilizers. We have to be in the bed and they all pile on top of us and under our blankets. Its funny and sad at the same time. Has anyone else ever noticed their a baby being afraid of storms.
None of mine seem to care. My big dog Austin, is my tornado watching partner. We stay up while everyone else is in bed watching the news and listening for the sirens. Mater, my pom, loves to go play in the rain. Shelby curls up in a little ball and refuses to go outside and get her feet wet!
Our Chessie used to get all panicked too. Katie isn't so bad but she usually runs to different windows to bark at the thunder. I think they are confused because they don't know where the noise is coming from. Do you think the thunder hurts a bigger dogs ears more than medium or smaller dogs? I'm trying to remember how my small dog acted but I'm drawing a blank right now.
I have a lab mix, and he is not afraid of thunderstorms. However, my German shepherd and my Shepherd mix are both afraid of the storms. They both go crazy and run around and bark. I think it has to do with the breed of dog.
